Help children in grades 2 to 6 develop listening and direction-following skills with the fun exercises in this book. Most of the activities are done with basic supplies like paper, pencils, rulers, scissors, and crayons. A few of them require elbow macaroni and soda crackers. Introductory exercises are fairly easy, but they progress fairly quickly to complex levels. For example, in one activity students draw 16 numbered circles, then follow directions drawing lines connecting the circles according to specific instructions. Circles and lines that meet specified criteria are then colored according to instructions. Some of these activities produce silly results such as the face drawn with a tracing of a fist as the basic pattern. Do not expect your second and third graders to be able to do all of these. Time required will depend upon the activity and maturity of children.
