 Stories of the Pilgrims Although this book is listed in the CLP catalog as a reader, it also serves well as a history resource for young children. This updated and revised edition of the original book about the pilgrims by Margaret B. Pumphrey tells of this brief but important time in America's history in story form. The reading level is appropriate for third or fourth graders, but it makes a good read-aloud book for younger children. The print is large and dark, and the book is in a large, softcover format. There are several black-and-white illustrations scattered throughout the book. A companion answer key is also available.
