Mental Math seriesMath Concepts, Inc.In the Mental Math series, there is one book per level for each of grades one through five. These books are designed to help students improve mental math skills as well as their grasp of math terminology, especially as used on standardized tests. Five to ten questions per day are presented orally to students who record their answers. There are from 90 to 172 sets of questions in books for the various levels. Reproducible answer sheets and score-graphing page are included. (A few other classroom motivators are included, but these are unlikely to be of use to homeschoolers.) The beginning of each book reviews material from the previous grade level, then moves on to review concepts being learned that year. The exception is first grade level, since almost all concepts are new. It is recommended that Mental Math be used only the second semester of the school year for first grade, but throughout the year in succeeding grades. Each Mental Math lesson should take less than ten minutes to complete.
