Algebra 2, second editionBob Jones University PressAlgebra 2 is suggested for eleventh grade. Although geometry is not a prerequisite for most topics in the text, the text assumes the student has obtained foundational geometry knowledge, especially regarding properties of triangles, in previous courses. This text will work best if a parent or tutor familiar with algebra is available to help with explanations from time to time. Lessons were designed to be taught rather than for independent learning, so it will be necessary to consult the teacher manual. Standard topics are covered, as well as trigonometry, matrices and determinants, and probability, although these latter chapters can be skipped if necessary. Each lesson in this book covers a larger chunk of material than in the Saxon books. Lessons are introduced with practical applications whenever possible. The homeschool kit includes both student and teacher editions plus tests and an answer key for the tests. You might also want to purchase the Algebra 2 Student Activities book and its companion teacher edition if your student(s) need extra work.
