Reading Comprehension series

There are six, half-size books in this series for grades 1-6. They are printed in two colors with illustrations and fairly large print so that they are less intimidating than full-size workbooks. Each book is divided into four main sections. "Reading for You and Me" helps beginning readers connect with written material and understand the value of both reading and writing. "Reading and Doing" are reading comprehension activities that require students to also read between the lines to make inferences. "Reading the Facts" helps them analyze written material. "Reading Stories and Poems" includes some comprehension work, but it also directs students to "construct their own meaning" by relating their own interpretations, feelings, and ideas. There are a variety of activities even within each of these sections. Answer keys are at the back of each book. At 80 pages each, these books will not take long for most children to complete.
