David Quine has developed an entire line of math, science, art, and music curriculum all based upon a biblical Christian worldview and reflecting the ideas of Francis Schaeffer. In Let Us Highly Resolve, David and his wife Shirley give us a “handbook” for raising our children according to that worldview.

From building upon the biblical foundation and teaching our children absolutes and proper reasoning, we can build our families up in faith, truth, and knowledge, equipping them to carry the message of the gospel to the world. The Quines show us how we can raise our children to “challenge our culture with the truth of Christianity.”

You might consider this sort of a foundational book on the philosophy of raising families and of education. Some of the ideas are very profound and challenging, but the Quines translate those ideas into real life with many stories from their own lives and experiences. If you are interested in doing more than just “getting through school” with your children, this is a must read.
